Uber Driver Licensing
Alberta Legislation requires that any one wanting to become an Uber Driver needs to hold a class 4 (ie taxi) licence.
- Study for a written Class 4 Knowledge Test. Brush up on the basic rules of the road found in the Learners Guide. Then study Chapter 7 of the Professional Handbook to learn about rules around operating a class 4 vehicle.
- Get a medical from your doctor.
- Book your Class 4 road test. We will need to see your passed knowledge test and medical at that time.
- Get a new plate for your vehicle. You will need to get a 'ride for hire' class licence plate from us as well. You can transfer regsitration from your current plate to the new plate for a fee.
